Drawing inspiration from the uniforms of the Ministry of Railways established in 1920, Taisho 9, this piece reinterprets the traditional Japanese student uniform known as gakuran by combining kimono sleeves with a tailored Western style silhouette, creating a refined fusion of Japanese and Western aesthetics. The clean structured collar evokes the disciplined look of classic student uniforms, while the short length gakuran inspired silhouette is designed to make the legs appear longer. Suitable not only as a jacket for everyday outings, but also for special occasions such as graduation and entrance ceremonies.
